My collection of Baofeng HT Radios is a growing, for Black Friday they had the Baofeng 5RM on sale for 1/2 price, I think they were $18 each… So I had to buy some!
AWESOME radio, much better screen, bigger battery and just really nice! I bought a single one, then found a kit with 2 and tons of antennas and accessories, bought that too. And I still have all of my UV-5R radios with accessories.
Quite the collection if I don’t say so myself. This picture shows about 1/2 of them. Some are still packed away from moving, there is one in each car, one in the garage, one on my desk, and one on a charger next to my bed.
Funny story, the top left one was on and we were all sitting in the living room watching TV and Stella heard a noise and ran to the front door barking. I heard it too and was unsure what the heck it was. Sounded like someone at the door or fiddling with the door.
Looked around, nothing…
Headed back to my chair and we heard it again! It was the radio coming off squelch and making a small, fairly quiet scratching static noise.
Ahhh, relief identifying the culprit who scared us!!
