I have been getting back into the hobby, and man, it has been a while! I still know what I know, but it has been a couple years since I have transmitted on the RF and had my voice heard.
That ends now… Ha ha, look out Norther Colorado!
It is crazy, 12 miles up the road from the farm and the stations and repeaters I can talk to are different. I can still get to the big guys up on Squaw Mountain but there a new ones up here Buckhorn Mountain, Horsetooth Mountain, Blue Mountain & Dick Mountain.
So I have been working on reprogramming all my radios with the new repeaters, and getting everything set up again in the garage.
I miss my big antenna mast out at the farm, 50′ in the air and absolutely NOTHING around to block it’s communication!
I got the same antenna, and I am going to mount it upright inside my attic, as high as possible and they say that will work perfectly!
The HOA would have a meltdown if I mounted it outside up on a pole or the roof, so I am trying to avoid that.
