{"id":4253,"date":"2026-09-24T07:07:51","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T13:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebrookers.com\/blog\/?p=4253"},"modified":"2026-09-25T07:17:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T13:17:09","slug":"bge-big-green-egg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebrookers.com\/blog\/2026\/09\/24\/bge-big-green-egg\/","title":{"rendered":"(BGE) Big Green Egg"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I picked this beast up yesterday in Fort Collins, a medium Big Green Egg!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a bit of a drive, and a bit of a bitch to load and transport, and, well just flipping heavy! (140lbs is what the specs say) But I think I got a good deal on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New they go for $799 and $299 for the stand.  I paid $380 for it all.  It was DIRTY, and the stand would hardly hold it up.  All the screws were lose, some missing and it took a minute to get it all tightened up and straigneted out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I took it all apart and cleaned every piece, it was definitely well used &#8211; but it cleaned up nice. Ordered some lump charcoal from Wood&#8217;s market, it was delivered an hour later &#8211; nice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fired er&#8217; up and let it get up to temperature (Which happened way quicker than I thought!) It got up to 500 degrees quickly, I brushed, scraped and cleaned all of the inside &#8211; looks like brand new now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was amazed also at how easy it was to tune it down to 275 degrees and hold it there by only adjusting the vents &#8211; super easy, super cool and my new outdoor cooking adventure will now begin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some, fun and food!  Love it!
