Man I remember these days, the old Camaro’s – well not really ‘old’ back then but now, looking back. I had several of the third gen style and I loved them all.
In fact, Lisa and I met on Main Street in Longmont, I had a 1983 Z28, Maroon with a small block 400 in it. Ahhh, those were the days!
I really need to see if I can find some old pictures, I remember I bought a motor from an old wrecked police car, rebuilt it, dropped in a big cam, a gear drive and painted the block PINK.
Dropped it in where an old stock 305 was, put all the cross-fire fuel injection back on and bamn, she was a pretty fast and hot car.
Pink block? Yeah the car was maroon with pink pinstriping! It all came together nice!
Funny thing, my 1984 Corvette has basically the same stock motor that the Camaro came with, it is a 350 vs a 305 but has the same cross-fire injection!
