The lettuce has started to grow, and I think every single seed has sprouted. Crazy this was from an old package of seeds I found from last year that was already open, I decided it would be the first one to test out the new grow light and rail system I got.
Funny thing, it is a fluorescent grow light – not LED. What? I have used LED’s so much int he past and it just seems like they are “too much” most of the time.
This little fluorescent grow lamp seems to be working well and is a little ‘nicer’ to the plants and seedlings. The lettuce is growing very well and seems happy. Next I need to transplant it all into some soil in small cups to let it grow for a few more weeks till I can transfer it out to the garden.
I was reading if you start new lettuce every two weeks you will have a continuous supply throughout the gardening season. I am going to try it as soon as I can get some in the ground outside.
