Our Firewood stacks are growing, slowly but surely. And, falling down. What the heck? I was trying to stack it 4′ tall to measure 1/2 cord per stack ( 4′ x 2′ x 8′ ) so two rows would be a full cord.
Had the first stack built up to height and the next morning it had crashed down on the start of the second stack. Wind? Animal? Who knows, I think it was just poor stacking.
So I cleaned it all up and re stacked it, and started a 3rd row out a bit, leaving room for a row in between. When it is all said and done I will have 4 stacks equaling 2 cords of wood.
I would like to have 4 cords to make it through the whole winter, we will see if I can whip that out!
Jake helped me for a few hours today, he cut and I split and stacked. Making progress, we will get it! Now I have a ton left to split and stack, I plan to do it throughout this week!
