Zone 10 on my sprinkler system was not turning on, with all the rain we have had recently – no big deal. Now that it is warming up and the sun is going to be scorching soon, I figured I had better fix it.
Everything looked good, tried a couple manual runs, still no go. So I had to remove some old one foot fence around this flower bed, trim some weeds, and dig out the three sprinkler boxes for the back yard.
Traced down the ‘green’ wire for zone 10 and found a very loose and bad wire-nut with 3 wires. And the exciting part, since the zone was currently running – I got to experience 24vdc resulting in a big jump and a ‘holy shit’!
Turned it all off to cut and repair the wires, a clean splice, new wire-nut and bamn!
We are pumping water to the garden now!
Yeah baby, successful day – took a bit longer than I thought, but hey, she is fixed!
