Here is a new addition to my desktop, a couple of big-*ss drives for data storage, 2 Ea. 14 TB drives, 28 TB Total.
Funny thing is I have another 60 TB of storage int he basement on an Unraid server. Everything down there is RAID and redundant so if one drive fails, we are good and it will rebuild on a new drive with no data loss.
I have a collection of documents, files, and photos that go back years and years that I never want to lose.
My Photo archive goes back to 1998 and man, do I have a collection over the years. Every photo I have ever taken. Saved, backed up and backed up again.
You know what they say, if you only have one backup, you have none. These damn hard drives die, I have had many fail and crap out over the years.
Seems like a constant battle to keep them all up to date at the newest capacity but hey – it is worth it!
All those photos of my wife, the kids and now my grandkids – priceless.
I think I’ll start another backup now just to be safe!
