Yeah it is the geeky side of me, playing with electronics out on top of the recycle bin. I bought a bunch of 5vdc solar panels and have been playing with them. Found the ‘XL6009 Power Supply’ that will take the 5v and boost it up to 12vdc, what???
So this 5v solar panel can charge a 12v Lithium Ion Battery? OK now we are talking. And the electronic board was $9.99 for 6 of them. Adjustable from 6vdc to 35vdc… that just amazes me, but I am easily amused – and have very basic electronic skills.
Anyway I set it for 14.25vdc which is on the upper scale to charge a 12vdc battery, and I figured the solar panel will not always have 100% sun.
Pretty cool configuration, now to figure out what I am going to do with it and where I am going to put it. I might try running a 120vac convertor off of it and see what I can stress test this thing out to do!!
I guarantee it will run a 100watt bulb 24/7 with no problem! Guess I had better test it to prove it.
