Natalie wanted a Highland Cow engraved into this cutting board, so I found an image on the internet and got to work!
It has been a minute since I fired up the ole laser engraver, it sets quietly out in the garage waiting for it’s next meal! Ha ha!
I did a couple practice runs and some brown paper sheets I have for testing. (Did you know a laser will not burn white because it is just too light and just absorbs the beam) It is almost the same size a s a sheet of paper, some a couple practice runs and I was ready to go for it.
That is always the task, getting it lined up, square and centered perfect. Seems you are never engraving something perfectly flat, square and easy to align.
Nailed it, got ‘er going and ran it about 6 laps around the image. No cutting it yet, busted the laser to 80% and dropped the speed down to 50 – now we are burning!
Had to open the garage door to let the smoke out!
Cleaned it all off and oiled it up, turned out pretty good!!!
