Solar Power

Solar Power

I have been working on and expanding my solar power out int he shed. I replaced two 175 watt panels with four 325 watt panels for a total of 1.38 kilowatts (kW) of output!!!

I have one 320ah battery and one more on the way to up my “storage” of all of this free electricity. Last year on my old system with only one 100ah battery I could power the pool pump 24/7 with ease, free power.

With the one battery now, I can run my garage fridge, lights, embroidery computer and monitor all day and night with ease.

My next step is to run two 15 amp circuits, one to the garage and one to the basement to power servers and refrigerators for free. (I have another beer fridge in the family room downstairs too.)

My ‘play’ electricity is pretty cool, and free. I cannot see why anyone would install solar on their home without a battery backup system.

Ahh, just like our house – we have solar but no batteries – I might look into adding them – that is what makes solar great is 24/7 FREE power!

Day 65 — The “less but better” rule

every time.
